The Woman’s Club of Arlington is holding a Fight for Literacy Tea event for their members on the afternoon of Oct 17, focusing on the life and works of Jane Austen. The Alexandria Assembly has been invited to demonstrate English Country Dancing such as Jane would have participated in. We will demonstrate a couple of simple dances, then invite the audience to participate in a few more. You do not need to be an experienced dancer to participate, but you should attend the regular September sessions, in which Corky will teach the dances that we will demonstrate.

Dress is Regency attire (preferred, if you have it), or modern attire as appropriate for an afternoon tea. We are allocated the time period 2:30 to 3:30, but please arrive early to get ready. Address is the Women’s Club of Arlington, 700 South Buchanan St., Arlington, VA 22204.
